Lipoma Removal

Who can undergo lipoma removal?

Individuals with soft, pea-sized or several-centimetre subcutaneous fatty lumps, especially if they cause pain due to their proximity to nerves.

A lipoma, commonly known as a fatty lump, is a benign tumour that can appear almost anywhere on the body except the scalp, palms and soles.

Lipoma removal can comfortably eliminate fatty lumps, particularly those seen in the abdominal and back regions.

Fatty tissue does not disappear on its own and does not heal with medication or creams. A lipoma accumulated beneath the skin may not always cause pain or discomfort. This fatty tissue is removed with a minor surgical procedure that takes approximately 5 minutes.

What happens after lipoma removal?

  • The lipoma is removed and the incision is closed with surgical sutures.
  • At the end of the procedure, the patient can return to daily life without needing hospitalisation.
  • It is recommended that the treated area should not come into contact with water for 2 days.
  • Sutures are removed after 7–10 days.
