Research suggests that the rise in aesthetic surgery was related partly to working from home. With less time spent outside and more flexibility during recovery, patients found it easier to plan operations.

Virtual meetings also made people look at their own faces more frequently on screen, increasing awareness of facial aging, eyelid concerns, neck laxity and similar issues.

As a result, facial procedures, body contouring and operations that could be planned with home-based recovery became more visible during this period.
