Vaser Liposuction

Who can undergo Vaser Liposuction?

Individuals who have been unable to eliminate excess fat despite years of dieting and exercise.

With advances in technology, different techniques are used alongside conventional liposuction procedures for surgical body contouring. One of these techniques is Vaser Liposuction.

With Vaser Liposuction, fat cells in the treated area are emulsified using ultrasound energy and then removed from the body.

The key feature of this method is that it selectively targets fat tissue without damaging surrounding tissues, blood vessels, nerves or the skin.

Regional fat accumulations in areas such as the abdomen, waist, hips, saddlebags, inner thighs, around the knees, lower legs, arms, submental area, ankles, back and nape can be treated with this procedure.

Vaser Liposuction can make the waistline more defined, and with Vaser High Definition techniques it may also be possible to enhance abdominal muscle definition.

Although local anaesthesia may be used for small treatment areas, general anaesthesia is preferred when multiple regions are treated.

What are the advantages of Vaser Liposuction?

Because fat tissue is liquefied with ultrasonic energy in Vaser Liposuction, surface irregularities and skin waviness seen in classical or laser liposuction are less likely to occur. Pain and bruising are also generally much lower compared with other techniques.

What happens after Vaser Liposuction?

  • The patient is discharged the day after surgery.
  • Swelling and oedema may be seen for about 1 week.
  • A compression garment should be worn for 3–4 weeks.
  • The body becomes more defined day by day, while the final appearance is generally reached at around 6 months.
